So the site looks a little different? Here’s the story..
I’ve packed my things and left Wordpress to move to Tumblr. I have an updated theme and also you may have noticed the different URL; I’ll now to running my stuff under http://kyledriffill.co instead of aintlifegrand.me.
Ill be keeping the same RSS feed, so if you subscribe, you won’t have to change anything. Also I’ll probably share a few posts on my Twitter account instead of the previous dedicated account.
The idea behind it all? I originally switched to Wordpress because I wanted more control, I wanted deeper access to my theme, the addition of plugin’s and tweaks. Nothing has changed with Wordpress, it provides all the same functionality of why I moved, if not better now. What has changed are my priorities.
As it turns out, i prefer the simpler approach; ease of use and simple sharing tools and the added bonus of being able to share my Instagram photos, without any Ifttt tweaks. I’ll no longer have to manage updates or have to backup my site because of the fear a change will break something.
The other clear benefit, the social side. Tumblr has a vast community, which I want to add my blog to. I can also follow a bunch of other great photographers, artists, musicians, through the builtin “follow feature”. There’s also the standard “ask” pages, for questions or quieries.
Some people may have the perception Tumblr isn’t a real blogging platform, hopefully as I settle into the home of my new site, I’ll do my best to show this isn’t the case.
